The International Fire Brigade Competitions 2026 will be held in Burgenland for the first time – a significant milestone in the history of this event. The international fire brigade association CTIF has officially confirmed the venues for the next competitions, after the originally planned location of Berlin was cancelled.
On the initiative of the State Fire Brigade Command, Burgenland offered itself as an alternative venue at short notice and was awarded the contract. The state capital Eisenstadt will thus face a major international challenge and looks forward to welcoming participants and visitors from all over the world.
The international traditional fire brigade competition will take place in Eisenstadt from July 22 to 26, 2026 – and thus for the first time in Burgenland.
State Fire Brigade Commander Franz Kropf emphasizes that hosting this competition represents a special appreciation for the fire brigade family of Burgenland. All those involved are doing everything they can to create optimal conditions and offer the international guests the famous Burgenland hospitality.
Mayor Thomas Steiner is also proud of the upcoming major event and emphasizes that Eisenstadt is already looking forward to the diversity of participants and visitors. For Provincial Councillor Heinrich Dorner, the decision is a strong signal: Burgenland is thus proving its ability to host larger international events at short notice.
The region and the host city are looking forward to the summer of 2026 with great anticipation, when fire brigade teams from many countries will compete and measure their skills in Burgenland.
